Repro Culture Japan (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit reproculturejapan.com (the “site”), how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using the site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
When you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address, and website you enter, along with the content of the comment. When you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include. If you create an account or subscribe to updates, we collect the details you submit, such as your name and email address.
Information collected automatically
When you browse the site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and similar technologies. This may include your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring website, the pages you view, the links you click, and the dates and times of your visits.
Information from third parties
We may receive aggregated or anonymized data from analytics and advertising providers that helps us understand how visitors find and use the site. We do not purchase personal contact lists.
2. Cookies and tracking technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use essential cookies that are required for the site to function, preference cookies that remember your settings, and analytics cookies that help us measure and improve the site. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can set most browsers to refuse cookies or alert you when one is being set. If you disable cookies, some parts of the site may not work as intended.
3. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the site and to improve its performance. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as those beginning with _ga) to collect information including your IP address, device and browser details, pages viewed, time on page, and traffic sources. This information is transmitted to and stored by Google, and is processed in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. We retain analytics data according to the standard retention settings in our Google Analytics account.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by adjusting your cookie choices, or by managing your ad and data settings in your Google account. We do not combine analytics data with information that directly identifies you.
4. How we use your information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the site and its content.
- To publish and moderate comments and respond to your messages.
- To understand which content is useful to our readers and how the site is performing.
- To protect the site against spam, abuse, and security threats.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own direct marketing.
5. Legal bases for processing (visitors in the EEA and UK)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: your consent, for example when you accept analytics cookies or leave a comment; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the site; and compliance with legal obligations where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time.
6. How we share information
We share personal information only in limited circumstances: with service providers who help us operate the site, such as hosting, analytics, and security providers, under obligations of confidentiality; when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process; and to protect the rights, property, or safety of Repro Culture Japan, our users, or others. If the site is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
7. Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images, and social media posts from other platforms, including YouTube. Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website. These providers may collect data about you, use cookies, and track your interaction with that embedded content according to their own privacy policies.
8. International data transfers
The site and the services we rely on may store and process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on the safeguards offered by our service providers, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information.
9. Data retention
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow up comments automatically. For registered users, we store the personal information provided in the user profile until the account is deleted. Contact emails are kept for as long as needed to address your inquiry and our records. Analytics data is retained according to our provider’s settings. You can ask us to delete data we hold about you as described below.
10. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights: the right to access the personal data we hold about you; to correct inaccurate data; to request deletion; to restrict or object to certain processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email us at reproculturejapan@gmail.com and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
12. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a Do Not Track signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, so the site does not currently respond to them. You can still control tracking through your cookie and browser settings as described above.
13. Children’s privacy
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
14. Links to other sites
The site contains links to third party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
